Community update on the infrastructure improvements at Kennett River.
We have received an update regarding the Geelong City Deal infrastructure works at Kennett River…
Last year, The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) advised that preliminary works would commence in August 2025 and these works proceeded as scheduled.
During ground testing, additional cultural heritage sites were identified.
While this is a significant and positive outcome, it required a pause to allow the newly identified heritage to be formally registered at a state level.
That process is now nearing completion, which will enable GORCAPA to finalise its Cultural Heritage Management Plan and resume works accordingly.
Construction of the new toilet and wastewater treatment plant is already underway, with associated civil works scheduled to commence in April.
At this time, this project is on track for completion in June 2026.
We will continue to keep you informed as further updates become available.
